This post has nothing do with Crohn’s Disease, just a happy story I thought I would share here. I’ve been blogging about Crohn’s Disease since 2011 so it’s nice to take some time and just share a happy story.

If you don’t know already, Kevin and I got engaged back in April. We decided to spend a weekend in Key West to celebrate our 2nd anniversary. We had a delayed one-year anniversary celebration there last year so we thought we would keep the tradition alive. Plus it’s not far from Miami.

Kevin asked if he could plan Friday night dinner and asked if I had anything in mind. I told him I would really like to see the sunset at Mallory Square. I came to find out that Kevin had booked a private dinner cruise making sure I would get a good view for sunset.

After our amazing dinner, our Captain/Chef was superb, we were taking some perfect sunset photos and that’s when Kevin got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Everything about it was perfect. We made several FaceTime calls to happy parents and friends and walked around Duval street enjoying the rest of our night.

Let me tell you about the ring. Kevin worked with a jeweler to design the ring. It was inspired by the Eclipse because of our trip to Nashville and it has his Grandmother’s diamond. The funny thing is I never really pictured what I would want for an engagement ring, but he nailed it.

We aren’t getting married until next year so we have plenty of time to plan and enjoy this time in our lives. I’m looking forward to my upcoming adventures as a bridal ostomate.
